About Koh Samui

Koh Samui is the second largest island of Thailand and is located on the southeast coast of Thailand in the Gulf of Thailand in the province of Surat Thani, about an hour’s flight from Bangkok, from where there are regular flights to the island. It is 900 km from the capital, the population is around 50,000. The island is about 25 kilometers at its widest point. The entire island is surrounded by a 51 km long road that connects the coastal areas.

It is also known as the “island of love” and is one of the most luxurious and sought-after resorts in Thailand, which, however, retains its authentic charm.

Koh Samui is a real holiday paradise.

Mountains, tropical forests, many coconut palms, beautiful rocks, green hills and white sandy beaches and crystal clear turquoise water give it a unique and magical atmosphere.

Koh Samui has a tropical climate that ensures a stable temperature throughout the year. The temperature on Koh Samui is around 30 °C, or more throughout the year. The climate is slightly different from that of the rest of Thailand. Monsoons occur on Koh Samui at a time when the rest of the country is enjoying a dry spell. Monsoons are typical from November to December and the driest months are January to March.

This “paradise on earth” is visited annually by around 1.5 million tourists who enjoy the exoticism, peace and scenery of the surroundings.

In addition to the fact that the island offers many hotels, in recent years private accommodation without surrounding resorts has been very popular. The overall infrastructure of the area is at a very high level. Transportation around the island is possible by buses, taxis, vans for transporting people, or individual transportation by scooters and motorbikes.

The most attractive and busiest parts of the island are Chaweng and Lamai. They are especially sought after by families with children. In addition to clean white sand and clear water, you will find restaurants, bars, shops, supermarkets, and other opportunities for entertainment and nightlife.
